The First Day

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my husband. I have been through a deployment before but you can never prepare enough for that dreaded day. I tried my hardest to be strong for Dee and for my girls. It was hard to hold back the tears. Throughout the day I would go into these crying spells and was in some sort of daze. Today I woke up and I felt a lot better. I got to work and My boss came up to me and gave me a hug and asked "How are you doing?" That meant soo much to me. I was amazed how many customers knew that Dee had left and cared about how I was doing.
My main priority for this next year is to make this deployment as easy as i can for the kids. I need to keep them busy and be there for them. They are the ones that matter. I need to wipe there tears and let them know that it's ok to miss daddy and to be sad sometimes. But also teach them to be strong and confident that we can do this and everything will be ok. I tell them that there daddy loves them and doesn't want them to be sad.  As for myself, I haven't really figured that out yet. We will be having our precious baby boy in November and that will keep me plenty busy. I'm just going to take it one day at a time. I love my hubby so much and he is such a good example of what a Husband, Father, Leader and Soldier really is. He is what keeps me going. I am so proud of the man he is.

  2. I am so blessed to know you. You are an amazing person. I have always admired the wives and mothers who send their loved ones into harms way. I love you and your little family, if you need any help at all, with the kids or anything, please let me know. You and Dee are a great example.
